New Art

So I've been practicing a Manga style art called "Chibi", it's a super cute, deformed character. It's all about cute factor in this style. You will notice some popular chibis like Hello Kitty, and Pokemon (the monsters).

This first image is the result of me following someones "how to" video on Youtube.
There are so many how to videos in so many different arts, and DeviantArt has loads of tutorials about various different arts as well. I'm also using those methods to learn how to use Photoshop to create art, or color my art, but I won't be showing any of that here. I'm still working on that.

The Next is a combination piece. The first half of a cat girl is a "how to" piece I was following in a book. The second half is my own creation of Azzy. LOL!

The next piece is obscenely cute. It has a boy surrounded by hearts because he has a crush on the cute little blond next to him. ^_^

And last, but not least, is a work in progress. It's Chini Drew!! lol.
I still have to color it. I went ahead and scanned the line art because I may want to play with this one in Photoshop. But I will go ahead and color it in colored pencil as well, so you will probably see that next.

And that's it for now. With learning these styles of art I'm opening a new door to illustration for children if I ever desire to do any commercial art... which I do.
A lot of Japanese style are it very popular right now and I think it's loads of fun and "super cute!".

Wikipedia says this about Chibi:

"Chibi (ちび?, can also be written 禿び[1]) is a Japanese word meaning "short person" or "small child." The word has gained currency amongst fans of manga and anime. Its meaning is of someone or some animal that is small. It can be translated as "little," but is not used the same way as chiisana[小さな] (tiny, small, little in Japanese). A prototypical example of the former usage in the original Japanese which brought the term to the attention of Western fans is Chibiusa, a pet name for the diminutive daughter of Sailor Moon formed from Chibi Usagi ("Little Usagi").[2]

In English-speaking anime fandom (otaku), the term chibi has mostly been conflated with the term super deformed or it can be used to describe child versions of characters."

So there you have it. I may have more to show later. I'm style working on regular anime/manga style art, but at the moment I'm having some fum with the chibi art.
